FAQ

Yes. Power Pages offers built-in authentication through Microsoft Azure Active Directory and external identity providers. You control who has access, which data is visible, and which actions users can perform. Power Pages complies with international standards including ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and HIPAA.

Traditional website builders such as WordPress or Wix are primarily static: visitors can view content but cannot directly interact with your business systems. Power Pages is data-driven. Forms store information in Dataverse, lists display live data from your systems, and users can sign in with their Microsoft or Azure AD accounts. This enables you to build true self-service portals rather than marketing websites.

SharePoint is primarily designed for internal collaboration, document management, team knowledge bases, and intranets. Typically, users require a Microsoft account. Power Pages is designed for external access, allowing customers, suppliers, and partners to sign in without a Microsoft license. For customer portals and external websites, Power Pages is the better choice; for internal collaboration, SharePoint remains the preferred option.

Common use cases include customer portals (order status, case management, service requests), supplier portals (document uploads, invoice tracking), employee intranets, registration sites for events and training, and request forms that store data directly in Dataverse or Dynamics 365.
